Yoga and Meditation exercises have become quite commonplace, with classes being offered in gymnasiums, studios, and other places worldwide. Many people turn to extreme measures to deal with anxieties, disappointments, and daily life stress.

 

With the proliferation of yoga and meditation growing in the west, it is more likely that you know or know someone who has practiced one or both practices. Both yoga and meditation offer great relief from stress and several other physical and mental benefits. But is yoga and meditation the same practice, or is it different?

 

Yoga and meditation both practice mindfulness and emphasize breathing and modernity. However, they are also very different. Unlike meditation, yoga has a physical element to its function, with asanas used to connect with the air and the present moment.

 

While both practices share similarities, yoga and meditation also share many variations. It is possible to exercise while you are in the middle of your yoga practice, as yoga is similar to meditation on the go.

 

However, because meditation is usually done quietly or with a little movement, you will not practice dealing with many aspects of yoga within your meditation practice. However, cultivating a habit of regular meditation can reduce anxiety and stress and allow time and space to clear the mind and body.

Some people may find the practice of meditation more challenging than the practice of yoga, or vice versa. During meditation, you are present in your body and the moment in peace and breathing, while in the yoga gym, you can experience that same sense of presence through walking, standing, and breathing.

 

However, both practices leave you feeling calm, present, and reasonable. Some yogis may find it difficult to stay long and find meditation in their physical yoga practice. At the same time, some meditators prefer not to practice physical yoga to achieve a state of relaxation and meditation.

Usually, meditators exercise with their eyes closed, but you can also meditate with your eyes slightly open. You can get used to it, even on overcrowded trains or while traveling, by simply taking a moment to focus inside, get into your breath, and pause for now.

 

Is Meditation Better Than Yoga?

 

There is no “better” practice, and yoga and meditation can go hand in hand. While meditating, it is common for you to become accustomed to sitting in various places such as a simple pose or lotus, both forms of yoga. During your yoga practice, you may find yourself in a state of meditation as you stream to your vinyasa.

 

Since everyone is different, every habit is different for each person, and it is up to you to choose which habits feel good in your mind and body. There is no better practice, and there are many aspects of yoga and meditation available to each other.
